Sophie Schneider (Senior)
Senior Sophie Schneider is one of West’s most prominent leaders. At Olathe West, Schneider is co-captain of the Varsity dance team, vice president of the Student Council, a National Honors Society officer, a member of Rho Kappa, Link Crew, and is on the Superintendent’s Advisory Panel.
“I am constantly inspired to try new activities because I think that we have so many opportunities to learn, grow, and try new things,” Schneider said. “There is a lot to be learned from every new environment that I can immerse myself in, so I am always open to exploring a new activity.”
Outside of school, Schneider is a Fuel Up To Play 60 National Youth Council Leader. In 2017, Schneider was the NFL Play 60 Super Kid and got to hand off the Super Bowl LI game ball. As an ambassador, she works with students from all around the country to promote healthy habits and works to inspire students.
“We get to lead conferences that incorporate student voices and different leadership lessons,” Schneider said. “We host events with the partners of the program to not only inspire a healthier generation but create a generation of students that feel empowered to make change happen.”
