Keely Barnard (Junior)

Junior Keely Barnard spends a lot of her time on the basketball court. During basketball season she has practice every day except Sundays and practices with a team outside of West. Barnard is an inspiration to many young athletes and she works hard to achieve her goals. 

Barnard wants to play basketball in college and knows that working hard will help her achieve this goal. 

“If I want to play college basketball I have to work and be busy,” Barnard said. “I can’t not do anything. I have to stay busy for my future.”  

She is driven to play college basketball by her family because they know firsthand what college sports entail.

“I’m inspired by my family,” Barnard said. “My dad and grandpa played sports in college so I know what it’s like and how hard you have to work to get what you want.”

Off the court, Barnard is a leader and is involved in the National Honors Society, OWLS, track, and Leadership Olathe.
