We all have heard of the Oscars and all the nominations for best picture, best actress, best actor, best director, and many more, but have you wondered what movies, actresses, or actors are the worst? Well, that’s what the Razzies are for. 

So what exactly are the Razzies? The Golden Raspberry Awards are a comedic award show that honors the worst movies, actresses, and actors. The nomination that wins gets a trophy with a gold raspberry on it. The show is presented by the Golden Raspberry Award Foundation. This award show started on March 31, 1981, 43 years ago. The Razzies are not meant to be taken too seriously, it is for entertainment and made to give a good laugh to the audience watching, the actors, and the films.

Let’s take a look at the nominations. The nominees for worst picture are “Good Mourning”, “Blonde”, “Pinocchio”, “The King’s Daughter”, and “Morbious”. 

The nominees for worst actor are Pete Davidson, Machine Gun Kelly, Tom Hanks, Jared Leto, and Sylvester Stallone. Nominees for worst actresses are Bryce Dallas Howard, Diane Keaton, Kaya Scodelario, and Alicia Silverstone. 

Nominees for worst remake film are Blonde, Both 365 Days sequels, Disney’s Pinocchio, Firestarter, and Jurassic Park: Dominion. 

Lastly, nominees for worst director are Judd Apatow, Colson Baker, Andrew Dominik, Daniel Espinosa, and Robert Zemeckis. These aren’t all the categories, but these are a few of the major ones and their nominees. 

So how do these films, actors, and actresses get nominated? Well, these nominees are voted in by the members of the Golden Raspberry Foundation. One of the most fun parts about The Razzies is anyone can sign up to be a member of this foundation. For around $40 you can cast your vote or renew your voting for $25 if you have done it before. There are many levels and member opportunities you can upgrade to.
