Movie Theater

When working at a movie theater, there are many different types of job positions that each person is responsible for. Sophomore Mercediez Parks is a crew member at AMC and holds these responsibilities.

“I work as crew at AMC so we get scheduled a certain position. So its either popcorn or register or hot foods,” said Parks. “On Sunday I have to work box office so I get to hand everyone their tickets when they come to buy them.”

A job at a movie theater comes with some pros and cons. Parks said her favorite part of her is the people because she really likes them.

“The worst part, I guess, is I don’t like being greeter because you literally stand in the same place for five hours or six hours,” said Parks.

However, Parks still thinks people should apply.

“I think it’s a great environment as long as you are willing to work and actually do your job but I think it’s super fun,” said Parks.

In the movie theater environment, Parks was able to learn a lot of valuable skills.

“I feel like I’ve learned a lot of skills like working with people more and like just being able to multitask and also with register I’ve learned how to work a lot more with money,” said Parks.
