Fast Food

When working a fast food place there are many different types of work you have to do, each one requiring a different set of skills. Sophomore Cailey Martin works at one of these places.

“I take orders and I count money or hand out food,” said Martin.

Working at a fast food place is not as easy as some might say. To get her work done efficiently, Martin has to have a certain skill set geared toward her job.

“You have to be really good at communicating and you have to be able to think in stressful situations and be able to get things done fast,” said Martin.

Working fast food, you are constantly surrounded by people. Marin enjoys being around and talking to people, which makes her work more enjoyable.

“I like communicating and working with a lot of different people,” said Martin.

Every job comes with a downside, but Martin is mostly bothered by the smell.

“The worst part would probably be smelling like fries every day,” said Martin.

Despite smelling like fries, there is a lot more to a fast food job. There are many things to be learned wherever a person works, and fast food is not an exception.

“I’ve learned how to deal with people who are pretty rude without being rude back and I’ve just gotten better at being able to handle stressful fast situations,” said Martin.
