This year’s tennis team ended their season with a second-place finish in the league, and many other individual placings. Placing 13th in league last year, the team jumped up to second with Ashley Jacobson placing 2nd in singles, Isabelle Yanes and Megan Geyer placed eighth in doubles and Cache Goracke and Autumn Jones finished with a 10th place finish on doubles.

“A new group of girls came in, freshmen and upperclassmen so it was really good to have new people,” sophomore Autumn Jones said. “Everyone had practiced over the summer so we all, in general, were a lot stronger.”

Jacobson also made it to the state championship this year for singles. She won her first match 6-1 and 6-0, but lost her quarterfinal match. She ended up placing 6th at state and was 30-6 in her match play from the season.

Senior Isabelle Yanes and junior Megan Geyer hit rackets to celebrate a point made in the game.
