To any thespians out there, Heathers isn’t new. The recent Broadway musical has boosted the story into popularity, however, the movie itself is arguably very different from the musical. The new plot, changed characters, and addition of songs to the musical, makes it drastically distinctive from the original, ’80s, dark comedy. Winona Ryder plays Veronica, a loser in comparison to her high school peers. Through a series of strange events including a bad-boy crush, some cruel teenage girls, and a triple homicide, Veronica learns how to survive the rocky terrain of teenage angst.
