Emily Carrico Ahart

My name is Emily Carrico Ahart. I teach English 1 and Reading. I also do reading groups during AI. If I could teach any other subject it would be a social studies/history class. My favorite thing about teaching at West is the flexibility, freedom, and funding we have to make it a good experience for students. My favorite subject when I was in high school was English. Some fun facts about me are I have a cat named Catsby and two fluffy, little white dogs named Minnie (Minerva McGonagall) and Lulu (Louisa May Alcott). The cat is in charge at our house. I went to Drake University in Des Moines, IA.
