The french teacher Mr. Schowalter because he told me I should join scholars bowl and i don't think I would have done anything like that outside of my comfort zone without him telling me he thought I'd be good at it and now I really like it.

The homecoming carnival because there is a lot of different activities to do.

Kelsey Carbajo is a teacher that has impacted me the most while being at Olathe West. She taught me that you should always keep pushing yourself. You won’t get anywhere or make your goals if you don’t do your best. You will never regret giving the best you got. And what if there’s not another chance? Just give your best work.

I haven’t gotten the chance to experience any West traditions yet but I’m excited to participate in some!

What is your favorite OW memory and why?

My favorite West memory so far was the first day. The moment I left the car people swarmed around me. It was pretty cool running through crowds of people!

If you could accomplish ONE thing while you are in high school at OW, what would it be and why?

If there was only one thing I could accomplish while at West it would be winning state in cross country. I feel like that would be a big accomplishment of mine.

Mrs Guzman- Not only was she an amazing teacher but always welcomed me with joy everyday. She set a good example of what a good teacher looks like, by taking time to help me understand when I was confused but also taught in manner that students and I were able to understand.

Homecoming Week- It’s a week full of fun event that everyone is able to participate in many different ways and also able to enjoy with your friends.

The carnival! It's a chance to connect with your friends and get hype for Hoco!

Last year's play Baskerville! I made so many close friends and had such good laughs!

What activities are you involved in?

Basketball, tennis F.C.A and O.W.L.S.

What teacher has impacted you the most and why?

Mr. Krzykowski. Mr. K is my AI teacher so I've been with him almost every day since I've started here at West. Every time I walk into his classroom, I feel loved from his welcoming presence. He always greets everybody in the class by name, which I think is very special. Something else that inspires me is his love for God. He has shared a couple times in FCA and the messages I get the most out of are always his. He just finds a way to connect with students differently than most teachers.

What is your favorite OW tradition and why?

My favorite lathe West tradition is when we all sing the alma mater after sporting events. I love how through a win or loss everyone comes together as one.

What is your favorite OW memory and why?

I don't think I can say just one favorite memory here to the West. My favorite parts of being here have been the relationships I've made with so many people and the relationships I've made and the amount of times I've started crying from laughing so hard. That's all thanks to the people I'm surrounded with.

If you could accomplish one thing while you are in high school at OW what would it be?

If I could accomplish one thing while I'm in high school here at West it would be to help others find not only their goal after high school but also find friendships that will last their whole lives.

Mr. Goerl has had a huge impact on my life. He’s helped me through a lot and I know if I ever need help he can be the first teacher I can go to. I know I can speak for my entire A.I when I say that Mr. Goerl truly cares about us and wants us to succeed in every aspect of life.

Singing the alma mater at the end of every pep assembly or game! It just shows how much love everyone has for our school whether we win or lose.
