Babysitting

Babysitting is a job that you do not have to necessarily apply for, but can still be a large time commitment. Sophomore Ellie Wiltanger works as a babysitter and has many different responsibilities.

“I go after school to the families house at 3:30 and then they do their homework and then I have to make them a snack and then I have to play outside with them and watch TV,” said Wiltanger.

The best part of Wiltanger’s job is that she likes the kids that she babysits, but there can be a few downsides.

“Sometimes I have a lot of homework or like stuff to do that I could be doing during that time instead,” said Wiltanger.

There are a lot of responsibilities to take on while babysitting since you’re watching someone’s children. It helps relieve some of the stress of those responsibilities if you like kids.

“Make sure you like kids cause if you don’t you’re going to pretty much hate your life,” said Wiltanger.

There are many important skills to learn from babysitting. Some of the skills Wiltanger learned are how to take care of kids and how to talk to adults.
