Trunk or Treat, the annual Halloween tradition where a variety of clubs and activities at West provide candy and games to kids from trunks in the parking lot, was held on Oct 29.

This event was organized by the National Honors Society, who made the decision to move Trunk or Treat into the gym due to the cold weather and chance of snow Sunday.

“It went really well, we had a really big turnout,” NHS officer Gabe Leathers said. “It was our first year doing it inside, so we were kinda nervous.”

Each table representing a club had either an activity for the kids or candy to hand out.

“Quite a few clubs did games,” Leathers said. “But most would either have something related to what the club was doing throughout the year and they would pick a theme and decorate the table.”

Clubs such as the feminist leaders, kay club, basketball, football, cross country and soccer all participated.

NHS created the layout in the gym, as well as helping each table get prepared.

“We had to get the maps and make sure all the clubs had a theme and had everything they needed,” Leathers said.
